Farm with SyRAP
Each season, SyRAP welcomes a new cohort of New Americans into our farmer training program. This program offers weekly workshops and technical assistance to immigrants and refugees, as well as land access for independent vegetable production. Interpretation is provided for all classes, as well as free transportation to and from the farm.
Year 1: Farmers attend weekly workshops at the farm from April – October. Program staff assist farmers in tending one 100-foot bed.
Year 2: Farmers grow independently on up to 12 beds (1/4 acre), and are offered the option of selling some of their harvest through SyRAP’s sales channels. Ongoing technical assistance is offered.
Year 3 & beyond: Farmers receive continued technical assistance as needed, and the option to expand their production to 1/2 acre or more.
Garden with SyRAP
SyRAP maintains four community gardens on the Syracuse Northside. Plots in these gardens are free to the community, with oversight and management from SyRAP.
Some new plots may be available beginning in the spring of 2023. Email us to learn more.
